At GFIA, the Kent County Department of Aeronautics is responsible for the management and operation of the airfield and airport facilities. The federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is responsible for the screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked baggage. The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for air traffic control. Airlines, car rental companies, and other vendors are independent business operators.
